letterboxd top 4
I created this blog as a space to talk about the things that inspire me, haunt me, comfort me, and stay with me, especially through film. Letterboxd has become my personal cinema journal, where I keep track of what I watch, how it makes me feel, and the stories that leave a mark on me.
So for my very first post, I wanted to start with something personal: my Letterboxd Top 4. These aren’t just favorite films. They’re films that feel like pieces of my world.
It’s tragic, dramatic, emotionally intense, and completely unforgettable. What makes Revenge of the Sith so special to me is the way it blends epic space opera with raw, heartbreaking character arcs. Anakin’s fall is devastating, and no matter how many times I rewatch it, it still hits just as hard. It’s not just a Star Wars film. It’s a story about loss, fear, destiny… and how love can both save and destroy you.
Coraline feels like a childhood dream that slowly turns into a beautiful nightmare. The stop-motion, the colors, the eeriness hiding under something that looks so charming, everything about this film speaks to my love for spooky, whimsical worlds. It’s unsettling but comforting at the same time, like a fairytale that understands darkness. This film represents that part of me that loves creepy aesthetics, curious girls, and magical doors leading to dangerous worlds.
3 ❤︎ Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992)
This film isn’t easy. It’s disturbing, painful, surreal, and incredibly powerful. While Twin Peaks itself is a universe, Fire Walk with Me feels like the emotional heart of it. Laura Palmer’s story is haunting in the most human and tragic way. David Lynch doesn’t just show a mystery, he shows a soul breaking. This movie stayed with me long after watching it. Not because it’s comfortable… But because it’s honest in its darkness.
There’s something timeless about the story of Frankenstein, and this version captures that in such a haunting, modern and emotional way. What draws me to this film is the balance between horror and vulnerability. The creature feels loneliness, rejection, and longing. There’s something deeply beautiful about that. It’s a story about creation, abandonment and what it really means to be human, and that’s why it earned its place in my Top 4.
My Top 4 reflects a mix of everything I love: tragedy, fantasy, darkness, beauty, and emotional storytelling. These films are more than just entries on my Letterboxd profile; they’re experiences that helped shape the way I see cinema. Maybe this list will change with time. Maybe it won’t. But these four will always live somewhere in me ❤︎
